David Lee Martin

David was born May 27, 1960, in Saybrook, Illinois to Delmar and Carolyn Karr Martin. David was a bachelor his whole life.

Surviving are his parents, Delmar and Carolyn and a brother Carl Dean of Paxton, Illinois. Nephews and nieces, Adam (Brie) Martin of Leroy, Travis (Nikki) Martin of Oak Hill, Jeremy (Cori) Martin of Elmwood, Kaitlyn (Dan) Murphy of Yates City, Hannah (Justin) Rickard of Heyworth, and Luke Martin of Brimfield and several great nephews and nieces.

David was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Violet Stephens and Margie and Herbert Karr.

David was a United States Navy Veteran.

David worked at many places during his working years.

He was a member of Saybrook Christian Church. He enjoyed attending church, reading the Bible, and learning more about Jesus.

David spent the last two years taking care of his mother. He cooked, cleaned, and had time for his garden which he loved, while at the same time battling his own health issues.

In earlier years, David enjoyed hunting and fishing. If he was not at home, you would find him fishing at Dawson Lake or Clinton Lake. He was a longtime avid fisherman and has been since he was 10 years old. He would always come home with a stringer of fish.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 am on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at East Lawn Memorial Gardens, 1002 Airport Road, Bloomington, Illinois, Pastor Stacy Landry will officiate. East Lawn Funeral Home is assisting the family.
