Dorothy "Dottie" E. Peterson

Dottie was born on Aug. 24, 1931, in Beloit, Wis., the daughter of Howard and Bernice Wilson Baldwin. She married John “Jack” Peterson on Sept. 14, 1957, and together they raised two children, Pamela and John. Jack preceded her in death.

Dorothy was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bloomington and was active in the church choir. She was a teacher for the Playmates Nursery School and was the office manager for Medical Hills for many years. Dorothy was a volunteer at Advocate Bromenn Medical Center, enjoyed playing golf, bridge, and the laughter of friends and family.

Dorothy is survived by her two children, Pamela (Warren) Rosen and John (Lisa) Peterson; grandchildren, Derek and Dorian Rosen and Eric, Meridith, Caroline and Halle Peterson; and her three sisters, Jean, Helen and Ruth.

A memorial service, followed by a reception, will be at 11 a.m. Jan. 30, 2016, at the First Presbyterian Church, 2000 E. College Ave., Normal. A private family graveside service will follow at Funks Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation or to the First Presbyterian Church of Normal.
