Eleanor Mary Hensley

Eleanor Mary Hensley, 93, a lifelong resident of Towanda, IL passed away September 27, 2015 at home. She was born December 19, 1921 in Bloomington to Joseph L. and Ruby (Gregory) Threlfall. She was raised in Towanda and married Paris D. Hensley July 29, 1950. She was the librarian at the Towanda Township Library for many years. She immensely enjoyed seeing kids read books, as she had a great love of reading and the English language. She was a past member of the Towanda American Legion Post 931 Women’s Auxillay, a past member of Grace Church of Normal and a current member of Fist Baptist Church of Towanda. Eleanor is survived by her daughters Jo Elaine McNiff and Susan Anita Proctor; grandchildren Jess P. Clemens, Sean McNiff, Robbie Proctor Jr., Heather Sue Proctor, Priscilla Suzanne Proctor, Ashley Ann Tioda Proctor, Samantha Marie Proctor; 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews; brother in law Cecil Randall; sisters in law Marie Plue and Mary Ann McClure. She was preceded in death by her husband, 1 brother Charles Threlfall and 2 sisters Isabelle Randall and Agnes Cannon. Visitation for Eleanor will take place Friday, October 2 at 9am at East Lawn Funeral Home in Bloomington. The service will begin at 10am also at East Lawn Funeral Home.
