He was born November 30, 1925, the only child of Elmer Louis and Minnie Belle (Pennington) Heisner, Sr., in Normal, IL. He married Jayne Kerr on March 29, 1953, in Paris, IL.
Surviving are his children, David (Linda) Heisner of Bloomington, Carol Hulslander of Normal, Laura (Joe) Schmitz of West Friendship, MD, and Linda (Alan) McKimmy of Bloomington; eleven grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years.
Elmer attended Normal Community High School, Illinois State University, and served in the USMC during WWII. He was a Shop Supervisor for Eureka Williams, from which he retired after 43 years. He loved fishing with his family and friends, was a Chicago Cubs fan, and always had a good story to tell.
Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be a private burial at East Lawn Cemetery at a later date.
