Frederick Eugene Lind

Frederick E. Lind, 91 of Bloomington passed away Friday November 1, 2019 at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center. He was born October 19, 1928 to August and Berniece (Gilmore) Lind. Berniece later married Solvatore Costa, who Frederick looked up to as his father figure. Frederick married Norma D. Foulk on December 25, 1951 in Stanford, IL. He is survived by his wife; children, Valerie Barry of Bloomington, Todd (Jennifer) Lind of Eureka, and Steven Lind of Atlanta, IL; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister Joann Galgano of Chicago; and brother Myrle Costa of Edwards. He was preceded in death by his parents and step father Solvatore Costa. Frederick was a Fireman in the Navy. After his discharge he went on to work at General Electric as a Machinist until his retirement. Even after his retirement Frederick kept busy being involved in many activities. He was a Fire Chief for the Allin Township Fire Department. He loved hunting, fishing and gardening, anything he could do outdoors. Cremation rites have been accorded. East Lawn Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements. There will be a graveside service at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in Frederick’s name to St. Jude Midwest Affiliate or American Cancer Society.
