

He was born April 4, 1950, in Quincy, to Henry "Casey" and Darlene Bill Jones. He graduated from Bloomington High School, Class of 1968. He married Teresa Hart on Dec. 7, 1974. Galen began his career as a carpenter, building houses, and was a partner in the company, JL Frank Construction. In 1989 he joined Mitsubishi, then retired in 2008 and returned to his first love, carpentry. He loved playing cards with his grandson Henry, playing euchre, and found joy in being Santa Claus every year at Christmas.
Galen is survived by his wife, Terri; son, Richard (Diane) Jones; grandson, Henry Jones; two brothers, Larry (Carolin) Jones and Robert Dean (Roseland) Jones.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at East Lawn Funeral Home, 1102 Airport Road, Bloomington. Additional visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. His service will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at East Lawn Funeral Home, with burial to follow in East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington.
