Glenn was born April 29, 1927 to the late Charles and Anna Ingle of Washington, Illinois. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army in World War II in Germany. He graduated with honors from Coyne Electrical School in Chicago, IL, and established a television sales/repair business, Ingle’s Radio and TV, in Lexington, IL in 1954. He entered the field of television electronics at its infancy and supplied the emerging demand for new electronics in the Chenoa, Lexington, Gridley area. He promoted color TV for several years in the middle 60’s with a New Year’s Day public broadcasting of the Rose Parade on NBC in color. He served the city of Chenoa as a town commissioner and was instrumental in establishing a sewer system and clean water supply.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he served all with enthusiasm and loyalty. He loved traveling with his family and some of the most memorable times, are vacations with him at the wheel of the car and lively conversation from the back seat. Dedicated to his faith and church, he showed compassion on others less fortunate at every turn. He would help complete strangers at his own discomfort, just to make sure they were taken care of and safe. Ever generous and giving, his hand was always open to make possible the dreams of others.
Glenn is survived by two daughters: Stephanie Issette (Gary) of Wilson, NC; Melanie Simpson of Gibsons, British Columbia, Canada; four grandchildren, Glenn Issette (Janna) of Wilson, NC, Melissa Finch (Craig) of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, Aimee Donald (Brandon) of Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada, and Blake Simpson of Gibsons, British Columbia, Canada. Six great-grandchildren, Grant Issette, Emily, Kate, and Molly Finch, Benton and Adelaide Donald.
