

Glenn Dale Weidig, Jr, 79, passed away on Monday March 9, 2026 at his home in Bloomington, IL. He was born April 9, 1946, in Bloomington, to Glenn Dale and Mary Violet (Moews) Weidig. He graduated from Central Catholic High School, Bloomington, in 1964.
Glenn was a U.S. Air Force Vietnam combat veteran who flew many missions in C-47’s configured for signal intelligence. In 1969 he returned to Bloomington and became a teamster truck driver.
On August 12, 1972 he married Barbara Ann Alfeld, in Bloomington, and settled into a comfortable life surrounded by family and friends.
Through thick and thin Glenn was the most loyal Chicago Bears fan there ever was. He also enjoyed golfing with his friends, making pies for every occasion and driving his vintage corvette on good weather days. Glenn had the unique ability to make friends everywhere he went thanks to his quick wit and great sense of humor. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Mary Ann Coan, a nephew, Nick Steggall and a niece Kristine Steinke. He is survived by his wife, three sisters, Judy (Larry) Fritcher, Carol Conroy and Stephanie (Dana) Steinke and 8 nieces and nephews.
A memorial service is being planned at a later date.
