Inge was born on April 8, 1928 in Muenchen Gladbach, Germany. The daughter of Karl and Tina H. Quack. It was in Germany that she met her husband of 68
years Doris “DL” McKinney, who was stationed there as an army medic. He survives. Also surviving are her daughter Cindy L. Smith of Normal IL and the love
of her life, her only grandchild Zachary G. Smith of Normal IL she is preceded in death by her parents and son-in-law Dale L. Smith.
We pray that in her last moments she knew how much she was loved.
Inge was very outgoing and generous in spirit. She never knew a stranger. She loved to travel and enjoyed visits to the German community in Chicago, which
was almost like a second home to her.
Inge had a zest for life. She loved music and dancing. She had a love for nature and enjoyed working in her flower gardens. She was always giving little gifts
to people that she cared about, including her “girls” at the beauty school where she would get her hair done every Friday. Even up to the last minute, the day
she went into the hospital she gave a little gift to the handyman who came to provide a service at her home.
Inge was a Jehovah’s witness. A scripture that always gave her comfort was revelations 21:4 and he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be
no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.
A private family service is to be held at a later date.
East Lawn Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.eastlawn-bloomington.com
