My heart still hurts at the loss of Mrs. Mariani.
My family and I, Dad, Bobby Hopkins, my sister's and I, The Hopkins girls, and mom Doris,  would encourage the Mariani's to keep going and stay in God's Love, because this current life could become so overwhelming that some people gave up, and stop trying.
She was class, grace, and always had a kind word for each of my sisters and I.  
She knew me, because of my love for all her sons, and because we were neighborhood friends.
May we all continue to be blessed by our Heavenly Father.

I'll always remember the excitement and joy I felt when we knew we were going to Bloomington to see Aunt Jackie and Uncle Fred and the boys/cousins. Aunt Jackie would always grab my face with both hands and give me a big kiss followed by a bigger hug , and I could feel the love she had for me as well as see it all over her face.  Thanks for all the love

Dear Cousins ~ I wish I had been able to join you as you bid your sweet mother good-bye. I loved Aunt Jackie dearly and will always remember her as Marco described her in his eulogy: happy, thankful, always-quick-with-a-laugh and a joy to be around. I treasure the time I was able to spend with her in Spain (pictured) and am thankful that we were able to make the trip to spend some time with her last year.  She did indeed make all of us laugh! She will be missed.  I miss and love all of you!

To my nephews and their families: 
I loved the times that we spent together when you kids were all young and had fun playing together with our kids. Then we all grew up, and playing together ended. I regret that we lived so far apart that our families didn't get to spend a lot of time together, except at a few family reunions. 
I love your mother! She and your father were both very special people in my life. The fun and laughter we shared together will now rest quietly in my heart where I can recall those sweet memories when I think about her. She and your father raised 5 remarkable sons.....I love you, also.

So sorry to read another family from the old neighborhood is saying goodbye to a family member. My prayers for God's peace and comfort to you all during this time. 

So sorry to see Mrs. Mariani's obituary this a.m.  My heartfelt sympathy to all of you.   I remember her taking us to All City Band from Sheridan school sometimes, (in a small car) and later, after I was working at the County, I would sometimes bump into her and your dad at the bank and she would visit with me .  She knew my mom was disabled and then after she died,  my dad was failing and she was very sympathetic and encouraging to me every time we saw each other.  Or we sometimes were at Tobin's on the same night.. I think Mrs. Walden and Mrs.  Claeys may be the only two mom's left now.  Funny how tight those bonds from childhood remain over the years.  Distance and time comes between us,  but we never forget.  May Perpetual Light shine upon her and may she rest in peace.
