Jim was born July 16, 1958 in Decatur, IL to Robert and Jeanne (Sommers) Carroll. He married Deanne Lynne Forrest on June 26, 1992, in Bloomington, IL. Jim loved spending time with his grandbabies, working in his yard, coaching and playing hockey, running, rollerblading, softball and baseball. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Blues fan.
Surviving are his loving spouse of almost 30 years, Deanne; children, Aaron (girlfriend, Cassie Espejo) Carroll, Kelli (Josh) Meyer, Brittany (fiancé, Jordan Zander) Carroll; 5 grandchildren, Chase Meyer, Jordan Bous, Brantley Meyer, Aspen Bous, Rain Zander; 3 sisters, Maureen (Jerry) Martin, Kathy (Pat) Althoff, Robin (Steve) Todd; 1 brother, Bob (Louise) Carroll.
He is preceded in passing by his parents.
Visitation services to celebrate the life of Jim Carroll will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Friday, April 1, 2022 at East Lawn Funeral Home 1102 Airport Road, Bloomington, IL 61704. Liturgical prayers will follow. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Bloomington. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
