James Kurk Hasty, 53, of Bloomington passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at 8:45 a.m. at OSF St. Joseph in Bloomington. He was born February 8, 1964 in Pekin, the son of Glenn Harry and Donna Ray Smith Hasty. He married Karla on March 21, 1997 in Bloomington. She survives.
Kurk enjoyed fishing and had quite a green thumb with his plants. He also loved spending time with his beloved cat, Hootch.
In addition to his wife, Kurk is survived by three sisters, Kim Nix of Bloomington; Glenda Craig of Pekin; and Donna Hasty of Bloomington. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation rights will be accorded, and no public services will be held.
East Lawn Funeral Home in Bloomington is handling the arrangements.
