A memorial visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Thursday, April 2, 2026 at East Lawn Funeral Home in Bloomington and a graveside service will be held at 12:30 pm at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Bloomington. Cremation rites have been accorded.

Jane was born on September 12, 1943 in Bloomington to Charles and Dorothy (Eddy) Lake. She is survived by three children, Greg (Kim) Erbe of Springfield, Diane Haab and Scott (Tanya) Erbe, both of Bloomington; seven grandchildren, Kevin (Aaron) Erbe Jr., Keith (Erika) Erbe, Emmanuelle (Eric) Fron, Mason Shepherd, Kaley (fiancé Logan) Haab, Kinzie (Dani) Washington, and Keelin Erbe; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; one brother, John Lake of Bloomington; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her husband of over 30 years, John Erbe; her subsequent partner, James “Jimmy” Elliot; her parents; son Kevin Erbe; and two sisters, Mary Smith and Nancy Kerr.

Jane worked at General Electric for over 30 years before retiring.

She enjoyed crafting, especially creating handmade wreaths and Christmas decorations to share with family and friends. She also loved flower gardening and spending time outdoors caring for the wildlife in her yard. A devoted caregiver, she lovingly tended to family members in times of illness. She had a generous heart and was always willing to help others. Above all, she found her greatest joy in being with her family and cherishing her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
