Janet Rae Purviance Cobb

She was born January 22, 1958, daughter of Harry Raymond and Mary Jane Marrow Purviance. She married Richard “Rick” P. Cobb on July 12, 1986 in Bloomington.

Surviving are her husband of Springfield; one son, Dylan P. Cobb of Los Angeles, CA and two sisters, Susan (Rich) McDermott of Bradenton, FL and Jane (Mahlon) Myer of Grapevine, TX.

Jan was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Lisa Otto.

She was a 1976 graduate of Normal Community High School. She worked as a cashier at Jewel-Osco in Bloomington and Springfield, worked as a bank teller in numerous banks in Springfield, and last worked as a cashier and floor runner at Shop N Save in Springfield.

Jan was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Springfield, where she also worked as a room mother and helped with the annual Harvest Festival.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Springfield, with the Rev. Daniel Eggold officiating. Visitation will be one and half hours prior to services, beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the church. Cremation rites have been accorded by East Lawn Funeral Home in Bloomington, IL.
