Jeff Hobson

Jeff Hobson, 59, of Bloomington passed away at 9:34 p.m. on October 7, 2018 at OSF St. Joseph in Bloomington with his loving family by his side. He was born December 15, 1958 in Bloomington, the son of Ralph and Nancy Godden Hobson. He married Cheryl Boolman on October 25, 1985. She survives.

Jeff was a truck driver for Wallace Trucking, but is best known for tinkering around his tractors, tools, and trucks. He also enjoyed rocks, the country, and fishing. He was also a proud daddy to his five fur babies.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a stepdaughter, Terrie Mott of Quincy; a stepson, David Mott Hernandez of Quincy; two brothers, Ralph (Vickie) Hobson of Missouri; and Mike Hobson of Illinois; two sisters, Kathy Coyle of Clinton; and Terri Collins of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Jeff is also survived by four grandchildren, including Nathan Mott of Quincy; as well as two great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
