

Jimmy shared nearly 68 wonderful years of marriage with his wife, Joyce. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and love. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce; his son, Greg (Becky) Bentley; and his three grandchildren, Justin (Megan) Bentley, Danielle (Kyle) McCradic, and Stevie (Jamie) Tillman. He was the proud great-grandfather of Graysen, J.D., Onyx, Knox, Hayden, Miles, Brooks, and Truce. Also surviving are one sister, Virginia (Hollis) Vaden and one brother, George Bentley.
Jimmy was the oldest of eight siblings and was born on October 4, 1934 and raised in Halls,TN, where he developed the strong values, resilience, and love of family that guided him throughout his life.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his daughters, Debbie Bentley and infant, Janet Leigh Bentley; his parents, J.D. and Jewel Crews Bentley; and five brothers.
For many years, Jimmy worked for GM&O, ICG, and Amtrak, where he developed a lifelong appreciation and love for trains. He enjoyed sharing stories from his years on the railroad and took great pride in his work. Outside of work, Jimmy loved fishing, hunting, and anything that allowed him to enjoy the outdoors.
Those who knew Jimmy will remember his strong work ethic, his love of family, and his kind heart. He was a man of quiet strength, dependability, and unwavering devotion to those he loved.
There will be no services or visitation. Cremation rites have been accorded by East Lawn Funeral Home, Bloomington.
