He was born June 26, 1952 in Bloomington to John Marcus “Jack” and Mary Anne (Graning) Raney. He married Teresa “ Terry” White Jan. 7, 1984 in Danvers, IL. She survives along with Mike’s mother of Normal, ten nieces and nephews and four great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Steve Raney.
Mike worked for Cargill Grain Elevator in Bloomington for many years. Following his retirement from Cargill he worked part time for NAPA Auto Parts in Bloomington.
Mike loved to read and enjoyed model railroading and exploring caves. Close friends knew him as “Maw”. He was loved and will be missed by his nieces and nephews.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be Tuesday Aug. 26, 2014 at 6 p.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home in Bloomington.
