Lulu "Lu" May

Lu was born August 7, 1922 to AR “Pappy” and Bessie McDaniels Bair. She married Denzil I. May November 22, 1943; he preceded her in death October 10, 1981.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; 1 brother, Ralph “Bud” Bair; and dear daughter, Shari Lynne Morris.

Lu is survived by her daughter, Lori May, Bloomington; granddaughter, Melissa (David) Jones, Chicago; grandson, Jesse (Lisa) Morris, Bloomington; son-in-law she loved as her own, John (Lyn) Morris; 3 great-grandchildren, Bryce Anthony, Keiana Lynne, and Adrianna Marie; and two daughters of the heart, Sandra Compton Scheindenhelm and Stefani Peifer.

Memorial visitation will be held from 5-7pm Monday, August 6, 2012 at East Lawn Funeral Home, Bloomington.

Lu worked at General Electric and the Admiral & Eureka Companies, as well as the Lexington Motel. She and her husband owned and operated May’s Dairy Store in Lexington from 1970 until her retirement in 1984. She enjoyed bingo, Yahtzee, and was a diehard Chicago Cubs fan. She loved her family with all her heart and will be missed every day.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of Lori May.
