

Mabel married the love of her life Warren “Bud” Courtney and together they spent a life full of love and happiness. They enjoyed each other’s company and took care of one another.
Surviving are her grandsons; Ryan (Jaime) Courtney, Colin (Erica) Nolan, Connor Nolan, great-grandchildren; River Courtney, and Briar Courtney, siblings; Isaac “Russy” Baugh, Mary (Fred) Hougham, daughter in-law; Glenda Courtney, special friends; Dianne Jones, Cindy Abbott, Jim and Barb Jones, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mabel was preceded by parents, husband, sons Randy Courtney and Michael Courtney, one sister in-law Sue Baugh.
Mabel had many passions in life. She loved taking care of her yard and garden. She spent hours making sure her grass stayed trimmed and green, and that her flowers were watered and blooming. Mabel enjoyed a nice cold Pepsi as well as a steakburger from Steak N’ Shake. She was an avid traveler with trips including Mexico, Las Vegas and Hawaii. She and Bud took an annual Branson Missouri trip and would sometimes go multiple times a year and many times take friends along. Mabel loved to bake and share her baked goods with everyone, especially her elaborate birthday cakes. She looked forward to hosting family gatherings and never let another person lift a finger in her kitchen. She enjoyed taking pictures, painting ceramics, shopping, listening to some country music and spending time with friends and family.
Memorials are suggested to the Downs United Methodist Church Youth Fund or the Humane Society.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday July 2, 2025, 10:00 AM with funeral service to follow 11:00AM at East Lawn Funeral Home 1102 Airport Rd, Bloomington, Il 61704, Burial will be at East Lawn Memorial Gardens.
