Maree M Hand

M. Maree of Bloomington was born to Perry and Violet (Young) Shaw on April 5, 1929. Maree worked at Fleming & Potter for many years in the bindery. Maree moved to Scottsdale, AZ in 1992 and worked at Usbourne Healthcare. She returned to Bloomington in 2002 and worked at Bromenn until she retired at the age of 75.

Maree was a strong woman, full of creativity and humor, who was beloved by all those who were blessed to have known her. Her unwavering love, smile, and sense of humor will be missed.

Surviving are her children, Karen (Rich) Young of Little River, SC; Kevin Lee (Enca) Hand of Great Notley, England; Family friend, Pam Wooden and family; Grandchildren, Kari Nuszkiewicz of Wausau, WI, Tim (Kellie) Young of Myrtle Beach, SC. Kevin (Rachael) Hand of Normal, IL, Kim Davidson of Phoenix, AZ; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Perry and Violet Shaw; daughter, Susan Lorraine D’Amato; 3 brothers, Perry, Buddy, and Richard; 1 sister, Gloria; and 2 grandchildren, Tari Leigh Young, and Jeffrey Allen Davidson.

Cremation rites have been accorded with East Lawn Funeral Home, Bloomington, IL. Per Maree’s request, no services are planned.
