Margie Hildebrandt-Blitz, 81, of Bloomington, passed away Tuesday July 26, 2022, at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center.
She was born on October 18, 1940, in Bloomington to George and Gladys (Hisle) Hilt. She married Fredric Hildebrandt on March 18, 1960. Following his passing, she later married William Blitz. Margie was a Christian woman, a homemaker, and a lover of many things. She found joy in growing flowers, listening to country music, working jigsaw puzzles and puzzle books, reading, and playing board games. She had a musical talent that was evident to all and even sang in a few bands around Bloomington. Most of all, Margie thrived off of spoiling her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are her four children: Rick (Lois Durbin) Hildebrandt of Bloomington, Terri Ziegler of Decatur, Joy (Jeff) Boehm of Bloomington, Jason Jewell of Bloomington; two sisters: Carol Negron of Fairfield and Marie Kaufman of Bloomington; brother: Eddie Webb of Kentucky; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and dog: Benno.
Margie was preceded by her parents; husbands: Fredric Hildebrandt and William Blitz; son: Donald; sister: Barbara; granddaughter: Jenna; several aunts and uncles; and precious dog: Isis.
A Graveside service to celebrate the life of Margie will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 1, 2022, at East Lawn Memorial Gardens.
