

Monroe was born on September 21, 1914, in Piggott, AR, the son of Marion and Nellie Hall. He married Mildred Lindstrom on January 30, 1938, in LeRoy.
Surviving are a son, Carl (Patricia) Hall of Bloomington; two daughters, Debra (Kerry) Brandon of Kuttawa, KY; and Carmen Clark of Willard, N.C.; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and 7 siblings.
Monroe worked in the Civilian Conservation Corps. He worked at the original Steak N. Shake/Shell in Bloomington. He retired as a serviceman from Sear and touched many families. He enjoyed his gardens and yard.
The family would like to thank the doctors and the nursing staff at the hospital and nursing home. They also would like to think his neighbors, and church caregivers.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 27, 2017 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Bloomington. A visitation will be held from 9:30 until the time of the service at the church. A private interment will be in East Lawn Memorial Gardens following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church.
