She was the youngest of three children to Harold Kenneth and Donna Phelps Mickle was born July 3, 1928, in Roseville, IL. When she was seven the family moved to Stronghurst where she grew up. She graduated from Stronghurst High on May 7, 1945, she then moved to Moline, IL. There she met her first husband, James Carson Mott. They were married May 25, 1947.
To this union 4 children were born, Pamela Ann Feb. 1, 1948, Anthony Lee Nov. 1, 1948, David Lawrence Apr. 6, 1952, and Darrell Ray Mar 31, 1967. Jim passed away Mar. 7, 1972.
Norma married Amos Pilkington on October 5, 1974. Amos passed away Nov. 19, 1984.
Normal worked for General Telephone as a supervisor for 28 years. After retiring in 1990, she went on two mission trips with Vale Baptist Church. The first to Brazil and the second to Jerusalem. Later she became very active with the American Red Cross. She completed 95 deployments and became a Red Cross Reserve. After an accident, she was forced to retire. Her later years were spent being very active in her church E-Free.
She is survived by her 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren; two step sons and her son-in-law, Lewis Orrick. She was preceded in death by her mother and father; sister and brother; all of her children; two granddaughters, Kay and Christina Mott; and one great-great-granddaughter, Brella Morton.
