
Oren was born on May 21, 1931 near Wayland, IA, the son of Harley Franklin and Addie Kemp Keiser.
Surviving are his three paternal cousins, Geraldine (Geri) Richenberger Rixe of Wayland, IA; Joe Keiser of Minneapolis, MN; and Dr. John Wesley Keiser of Cedar Falls, IA; a brother-in-law, Melvin Zehr of Ft. Doge, IA; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Also by his so called step-children and loving friends Kathy Quinn Anderson; Donna Quinn, Janis Quinn Calhoon, and Jr. Quinn. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Lois Keiser Zehr; and according to him his best friend in life, Judith Quinn.
Oren proudly served in the United States Air Force in the Korean War. Oren was an avid karaoke singer all around Bloomington. He was also a member of the Bloomington VFW and the Bloomington Eagle’s Club.
He will be remembered by his many friends as a humble, friendly, good-hearted caring person who loved music, both to play and sing. His favorite instrument was the saxophone and loved the blues. Another favorite pastime of his was fishing.
A graveside service will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery, 5063 Camp Butler Rd, Springfield, IL 62707, with military honors. Online condolences may be shared with the family at eastlawn-bloomington.com
