I was sad today to find out Paul passed away. He was a big help to me in making decisions about my insurance at the Arc. I feel like I knew him as a good friend too. I'll miss seeing him at the Arc. The comments were so on target about Paul's personality and his kind way of talking with people. Prayers for his family and friends that will miss him. Heaven just added a very special guy.

Paul was simply the best. He was the best neighbor who I knew I could always depend on to listen, share a laugh, or help me out a jam. We sat on his front porch many times discussing the latest news, politics, or home repairs. He was a kind and gentle man with the best sense of humor. I first got to know Paul when he came to Illinois to visit his dad, Owen. When he moved in to take care of his dad, I admired his strength and loving care for him. His dad was a special guy who my mom and I adored as a neighbor. Soon, Paul became that special neighbor. Whenever there was a dead animal in my yard, Paul rescued me. He even took it home with him and put it in his garbage can. What a guy! When it became more difficult for him to walk across the street, he would send a text message. My last message occurred the afternoon before he died thanking me for putting in his garbage can. As I gaze across the street, I see his truck on the driveway and think, Paul his home. Yes, he is home. Paul is with his parents in Heaven. Paul’s family & friends now have the best guardian angel. My prayers and sympathy are with Phil and Mike.

Through the years, Paul impressed upon me the importance and strength of quiet servitude. He would simple rise to meet needs at church, serving and encouraging others along the way.  Paul taught us without words. We are grateful for knowing him.

My condolences to Paul's family. I very much enjoyed working with Paul doing taxes at VITA for many years. I appreciated his friendship and his expertise in answering questions that I had. He will be missed by family, friends, and the many people he did taxes for. May he rest in peace.

This news about Paul's passing makes me sad but I know Paul is in Heaven because I can't think of anyone that lived the path & principle of Jesus Christ more than Paul Owen Minear. Kind, funny & devoted to his Dad, Owen. They had a strong father/son bond that I witnessed first hand as their neighbor & fellow church member. Everyone that knew Paul loved & appreciated all that he brought to this world. Now he has gone to that better world where his Dad & loved ones welcome him with open arms. Paul was a humble, warm man with many talents. I am a part of the SHIP Medicare Counseling Team where Paul served as a retiree volunteer for over ten years at the ARC Senior Center. He was central to our team, providing technical support , training new members, and providing many people with the knowledge they needed so they could make best decisions, a real gift he had. What a privilege to have known him and to have enjoyed his quick wit, humor and wisdom. Be at peace with your Lord.
