PEGGY A ALLEN

Born February 1, 1942

NORMAL, IL -

Peggy A. Allen, 69, of Normal, passed away at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, April 22, 2011 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

She was born February 1, 1942 in Buckhorn, IL, daughter of Leslie and Marjorie Putnam Patton. She married Larry E. Allen on November 28, 1964 in Springfield, IL.

Surviving are her husband of Normal; one son, Tim (Candy) Allen of Hopedale; one daughter, Lesley (Scott) Davis of Gibson City and 5 grandchildren, Chase, Payton & Macy Allen and Jessalyn & Rylan Davis. Also surviving are two sisters, Maxine (Tom) Riley of Higbee, MO and Betty Jones of Quincy. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.

Peg enjoyed her grandchildren and traveling and camping in the motor home with her husband. She also was an avid reader and loved her cats. She worked for IL Bell in Springfield and later for General Telephone in Bloomington.

She was a member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Normal, where she was the member of the board for Kiddie Korner Preschool and was involved with other various committees.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, 1510 N. Main Street, Normal. Visitation will be from 4 to7 p.m. on Tuesday at the church. Entombment will be at East Lawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Bloomington. East Lawn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
