Although it has been years since I have seen Peggy, there is not a time I drive down Sunset Road without thinking of her. I was so sad to hear of her passing. I remember how kind and funny she was in high school.

I knew Peggy when we were both principals in the Oly School District. She truly loved her students and her staff.  She was so proud!  Peggy's quick humor and wit could put a pleasant spin on any sticky situation.  She was always there for some comic relief when necessary. I respected Peggy as a fellow educator for her knowledge and frequently sought her advice and perspective on countless situations during my administrative years.  She'll always have a special place in my heart.  She truly was our "Lucy".  Thanks for the memories, Peggy.  You are loved.

Delightful- smart- fun- an advocate for her students and teachers, someone who would light up the room whether you entered hers or she yours-  a professional who would support you in the toughest of times with integrity...
Peggy was such a gift to those who were priviledged to work with her and all the students she touched. She will forever hold a special place in my heart.

I was saddened to read of Peggy's passing.  I have so many great memories of the "Sunset Road" days.  Hopefully, these memories will be there for you also.

So sorry to hear the news, my sympathy to Nancy, I fondly remember "little" Peggy and our carefree days in the late '50s, playing at your house and across the street at ours. May the many memories comfort you at this time.

We knew Peggy through her wonderful parents, Lee and Eileen, whom we met in the late 1950's when State Farm growth fostered social gatherings among interacting employees.  Our friendship with her mom and dad lasted until their dear departings from our midst.  As we remember and miss her parents, so will Peggy be remembered and missed by those she loved and shared her life with, and visa versa.

I never had the privilege of knowing Peggy well but that rare combination of contagious enthusiasm,and a witty delightful sense of humor mixed with a heaping helping of kindness and compassion made her one of those "bigger than life" people you could talk with for 2 minutes and walk away wishing for more of that smart, funny woman.  I have a memory I want to share that speaks of the good humor and kindness Peggy exuberantly dispatched to others every day.  When I first met Peggy I was doing a clinical teaching experience at Stanford.  When my few weeks there ended Peggy called me in to her office for an exit interview.  I sat down and immediately commented on a photograph of her sister Nancy she had on her desk saying "oh...what a pretty DAUGHTER you have!"  Most women would have been offended by my bumbling faux pas but Peggy erupted into great hoots of bent over, knee slapping hilarious laughter! How could you not LOVE her? She never let me live that one down and I treasure the many laughs we shared about it afterwards.  The departure of such a great and beautiful heart from this earth is a sadness and deep loss for all of us.  My condolences to Peggy's many friends and family.

Peggy was the smartest, funniest, kindest and all the other "ests" you can think of! I am so lucky to have had her for a friend. To Nancy and all of the ones she loved, I hope you find peace in her strength and her faith.   Gods love my freind.

I know your favorite song is "fly me to the moon". Now you will be dancing on the stars and can see what spring is like on mars. But could'nt you have waited 20 yrs or so and we could have taken a space ship together?

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Peggy's family.  For many years, Peggy was in charge of our daughter's IEP meetings at Metcalf. She made the meetings fun and something to look forward to. Oh dear Peggy, I cannot believe you are gone! How I wish I could have said goodbye to you! You were our own Lucille Ball, smart, funny, loving, easy to love. I am so sorry to hear that you have left us so young.

I'm very saddened to hear of Peggy's passing. With her quick wit and sharp mind, she was always the life of the party back in our Shannigan's days--and when Nancy was there too, every man was at the mercy of the Herman sisters.

I will remember Aunt Peggy, playing "Cootie", sleeping on the back porch at Grandma and Grandpa's house and eating watermelon in the front yard. You may be gone from here, but memories always stay in the heart.

Like Mary, the last time I saw Peggy was at our 20th high school reunion.  I remember such good times with her at BJHS and BHS.  She was always laughing and had a great wit!!  I remember a slumber party at her house the night Neil Armstrong walked on the moon. I last saw Peggy at the 20th. HS reunion. She was very outgoing and pleasant to be around. To hear her speak of her position as Principal reflected the joy she truly felt from the students. It is sad that our graduating class has lost another member. It is assuring that having fallen to illness, she now can rest in peace. For those she left behind, I offer my condolences and know you are in my prayers.
