

His memorial service will be held at 10 am on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at East Lawn Funeral Home, Bloomington, where visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm and lite refreshments will be provided. Cremation rites have been accorded.

He was born August 24, 1948 in Chenoa, IL, son of William "Bill" and Anne Evelyn Gestlinger Adams. He first married Maxine Simpson. On February 16, 1985, he married the love of his life, Patricia A. Huenink Skaggs.
Surviving are his wife, Patty of Normal; children, Wendy Adams of Streamwood, IL, Scott (Tressa Fawn) Adams of Bloomington, Michael Adams and Heather (Bubba) Shipp, both of Weatherford, TX, Dawn (Patrick) Forden of Aurora and Heather (Bill) Miller of Downers Grove, IL and ten grandchildren, Gordon (Carolyn) Ford, Jacki Ruiz, Jenny (Darin) Coomer, Bree Adams, Billy Forrester, Joshua Forden, Alyssa Forden, Connor Forden, William Miller and Landen Miller. Also surviving are nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Michael (Judy) Adams of Georgia and Samuel (Sharon) Adams of Bloomington; sister, Linda (Tom) Trueheart of Tampa, FL; brother-in-law, David (Louise) Huenink of Wisconsin and sister-in-law, Cheryl Huenink of Germany.
Randy was very passionate about his work as a carpenter, a trade that he learned alongside his father and grandfather and worked in since he was a teenager. He retired at the age of 70 from his business "Randy Adams Carpentry."
When Randy was younger, he enjoyed racing stock cars and coaching junior and adult league softball. He enjoyed reading, bowling and riding his motorcycle. Randy was a Chicago Bears fan and liked watching Walker Texas Ranger and Extreme Makeover Home Edition. He was also an avid collector of anything "M&M's" and bald eagles.
Randy loved to travel, domestic and internationally, and loved walking sandy beaches alongside his wife, Patty.
He will be fondly remembered for his love of the 4th of July gatherings and his adventurous spirit, whether it was riding roller coasters or thrill rides and even bungee jumping off of the Vegas Stratosphere (at the age of 70).
