Reginald Denton Henry, age 77, of Hudson, passed away Friday Aug. 23, 2013, at 9:35 a.m. at his residence. He was born March 19, 1936, in Fredericktown, MO, to Archie and Inice (Sanders) Henry. He married Edith Pogue Oct. 23, 1954 in Roselle, MO. She survives along with five children: Sheryl (Tom) Jenkins of Bloomington, Kim (Charles) Smith of Carlock, Renee (Randy) Miller of Hudson, Michel (Chris) Epps of Roselle, MO, and Buck (Taunia) Henry of Gridley. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren: Regan (Kevin) Kramer, Adam (Kassie) Jenkins, Dawn (Don) Jones, Nicole (Tom) Buddenhagen, Mistie (Eric) Maisch, Ashleigh (Andrew) Thompson, Sarah (John) Locke, Caleb (Jordan) Miller, Samaria Henry, Josiah Henry, Isaiah Henry, Nehemiah Henry, Judaea Henry, Moriah Henry, twenty four great-grandchildren, and two brothers: Howard (Sue) Henry and Philip (Shirley) Henry both of Roselle, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister, Mary Elizabeth Henry, a brother-in-law, Lyle Pogue, and a sister-in-law, Ella Mae Henry. Reginald attended the University of Missouri where he received a BS, MS & PhD. He taught High School Agriculture in Missouri for several years. He was Professor of Agriculture and Chairman of the Agriculture Dept. at Illinois State University for many years. He retired from ISU in 1993 to farming until his death. He loved hunting, fishing, reading, bicycling, hiking, and traveling the world with his wife. He served at the Midwest Food Bank, Jesus House, and Senior Saints Ministry of East White Oak Bible Church. He was a member and very active at East White Oak Bible Church. He was a lifelong supporter of many agricultural organizations, especially FFA. His greatest enjoyment was to spend time with his family and to support them in any way he could. Visitation will be Monday Aug. 26, 2013 from 4 to 7 p.m. at East White Oak Bible Church in Carlock. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the church. Additional visitation will be one hour prior to the services on Tuesday at the church. East Lawn Funeral Home in Bloomington is in charge of arrangements. Graveside services will be held Wednesday Aug. 28, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Sebastian Cemetery in Fredericktown, MO. Memorials may be made to the ISU Agriculture Department or East White Oak Bible Church.
