

Renea was born Jan 17, 1967 in Bryan, OH the daughter of Robert and Barbara Hancock, who survive her along with husband, Dan Apartian and 11 year old son, Andrew. Also surviving is her mother-in-law Shirley Apartian of Matthews, NC; her sister Sonya Hughes; her niece Sierra Hughes; nephew Brett Hughes and her grandmother, Ellen Harrington of Bryan, OH; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.
She received a BA from Ambassador College and a MBA from Woodbury University. Prior to having her son, Renea worked in the finance industry managing investments for several firms in California. When she lived in Pasadena, California she was a member of the Tournament of Roses for more than 10 years. She helped direct floats down the Rose Parade Route, coordinated the Queen and her Court’s Breakfast, and many other assignments. From 2005–2012 her family lived in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Renea loved to sing. In college she traveled with the Young Ambassadors singing and dancing. After college she continued to sing in her local church. She was involved in several Youth Summer Camps as a Counselor. She was also involved in a local Book Club in Bloomington and worked at her son’s school in the Library.
Preceding her in death was her father-in-law Dibar Apartian, her brother-in-law Phillip, and her grandfather Herbert Harrington, and nephew, Derek Hughes.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 6th from 6 – 9 PM and Services will be at 1PM on Thursday, May 7th at East Lawn Funeral Home, 1102 Airport Rd, Bloomington, IL conducted by Pastor Darris McNeely of the United Church of God.
Memorials in memory of Renea can be made to the donor’s choice.
