

Richard “Rich” H. Daughty, 69, of Heyworth, passed away at 9:27 a.m. on Friday, October 8, 2010 at Bloomington Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.
He was born August 3, 1941 in St. Louis, MO, son of John “Jack” Edward and Alice McDermentt Daughty. He married Lorraine “Peanuts” Collins Hall on August 13, 1970 in St. Louis,MO.
Surviving are his wife of Heyworth; six sons, Richard,Jr (Janet) Daughty and Donald Hall, both of Heyworth, Robert (Cindy) Sampson of O’Fallon, MO, Tim (Carol) Sampson of St. Louis, MO, James Daughty of MO and Patrick (Judy) Daughty of Freemont, NE; three daughters, Janice (Brian) Kindred of Heyworth, Denise (Robert) Wallace of GA and Sherry (Bud) Daughty of Desoto, MO. Also surviving are 33 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; two sisters, Linda (Don) Scheyer of Granite City and Patty Ellis of St. Louis, MO and one brother, Leroy “Butch” Daughty of Granite City.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three grandchildren and one sister, Vera Coleman.
Rich first worked as a tool & dye maker for Carter Carberator in St. Louis, MO and he retired from TMX Trucking in 1979 after 30 years.
He was active for over 50 years with the Scouts; Cub Scouts, Tiger Scouts, Weblo’s and Boy Scouts. Rich has received many awards and achievements because of his involvements with the scouts for many years. He was also a 32 Degree Mason, a member of the Wade Barney Masonic Lodge in Bloomington and also a member of the Consistory.
Rich was a former EMT for the Heyworth Ambulance Service, he applied make-up for the performers of the Passion Plays in Bloomington, and he recently would be remembered as the BINGO caller at the VFW Post 1559 in Heyworth.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at East Lawn Funeral Home in Bloomington, where visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday. Burial will be at Randolph Memorial Cemetery in Heyworth.
The family would like to extend a thank you to all of the doctors and nurses at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center and all the staff of Bloomington Rehabiliation & HCC and Harbor Lights Hospice.
