Richard Allen Hoskinson Sr.

He was born March 6, 1948 to Richard Burdette and Merna Ruth (Hall) Hoskinson in Peoria, IL. He married Diane Bieder August 23, 1969.

In addition to his wife, Richard is survived by son Richard (Elena) Hoskinson Jr. and daughter Julie Hoskinson; three brothers Ronald Hoskinson, Roger Hoskinson, Randy Hoskinson, two sisters Patricia (Blaine) Flesher, and Beverly (James) O’Connor.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister-in-law Bonnie Hoskinson, grandparents Herman and Ruby Hoskinson, Frank Hall and Bernice Keller Hall.

Richard graduated from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Arts and Sciences. He was the President and Co-Owner of Specialty Lines Underwriters.

Those that knew Richard will fondly remember the laughter and spirit that he brought to every situation. Richard had a presence that was infused with enthusiasm and optimism. His perseverance through the last two decades has been truly heroic. He will be dearly missed and will continue to be cherished every day.

Visitation will be Sunday August 25, 2019 2:00-4:00 p.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home, with a Celebration of Life to follow. Pastor Danny McCubbins will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made in Richard’s name to a charity of the Donor’s choosing.
