Richard is survived by his daughter: Amber Ross of Waynesville; Stepson: Shannon Funk of Gibson City; grandchildren: Courtland Cochran of Bloomington, Dakota Ross of Armington, Samantha Seymour, Sydney Funk and Skyler Funk of Gibson City. Great grandchildren Cristopher Seymour, Chauncey Cochran and Collin Cochran. He is preceded in death by his parents; Mother: Blanche L. Wright and Father: J. Morris Wright.
Richard was born on November 12, 1930 in Normal, IL. He graduated from Normal Community High School in 1949. He worked as a switchman for IL Central Railroad for 34 years and as maintenance for JC Penney for 15 years. He enjoyed spending his retirement singing karaoke around Bloomington-Normal.
Cremation rites have been accorded with East Lawn Funeral Home. A graveside funeral service is scheduled for Friday, July 22, 2022 at 10:00 am. A memorial dinner will be held at the Waynesville American Legion at 5:00 pm that evening.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Amber Ross and family.
