Robert (Rob) Bruce Schroeder, age 73, died on March 17, 2026. He was born July 27, 1952, and was born and raised in Peoria, Illinois, to Bruce Schroeder and Lois Harris. Rob later moved around the state before settling in Bloomington, Illinois. A cherished presence to those who knew him, Rob will be remembered with respect and gratitude.
Rob graduated from Caterpillar’s Machine Repair Apprentice Program and DeVry University. He retired from Original Smith Printing in 2019. Rob was known for a dry sense of humor and a witty nature. He believed in Jesus, and he was a wonderful brother.
Rob is survived by his sister, Nancy (Rockie) Zeigler of Lexington, Illinois; and two stepsons, Greg Bailey and Steve Bailey, both of Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bruce Schroeder and Lois Harris.
A Celebration of Life will be held on April 1, 2026, from 3:00–5:00 p.m. at Rob Dob’s, 801 N Hershey Rd, Bloomington, IL.
Rob was an avid dog lover; memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Central IL or to Pet Central IL.
