

He was born on June 6, 1951 in Lincoln, IL to Ansel and Biddy Sue (Rich) Bristow. He married Linda Kern on February 28, 1981 in Funks Grove, IL. She survives.
Also surviving are his three children, Angie (Mark Bounds) Bristow, Adam (Heather Olson) Bristow and Kyle Bristow; two grandchildren, Zoe (Jake Coffey) Hocker and Drew Hocker; sister, Patty (Phil) Miller; sister-in-law, Linda Bristow, and brother-in-law, Willis (Stacy) Kern.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Gary Bristow.
Ron served in the Army National Guard and started his apprenticeship as a tool and die maker with General Electric. He continued his work career with the opening of Mitsubishi Motors in Bloomington until its closure.
For over 40 years Ron was a proud member of the Bloomington Normal Bass Club. His lifelong love for the outdoors brought him and his family on numerous adventures across the country.
Cremation will be accorded and a private family service will be held at a later date. East Lawn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to Illinois Cancer Care Center in Bloomington or Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.
