She is preceded in passing by her parents.
Sandy spent her early years growing up in Pennsylvania, just outside Philadelphia. While living at various places in that area she had her first four children (Gary, Tim, Chris, and Nate), living most of the time in Boothwyn, PA. At this point she moved to West Germany with her husband who was in the military at the time. While in Germany she had Steve. After living there for about 4 years she moved back and up to mountains of Galeton, Pennsylvania where she lived for about 12 years while her oldest Gary, attended college. When Gary moved to Bloomington, IL for his first job working for State Farm Insurance, Sandy followed along a little less than a year later as well. Bloomington, IL is where she had called home ever since (for the last 24 years).
Sandy’s main driver in life was her kids. She wanted her kids to grow up and have their own kids. She was a lifelong animal lover, and there was never a point in her life where she didn’t have at least one dog and a couple of cats; many times, fish, guinea pigs, hamsters, parakeets, etc. shared her home as well. She loved baking and cooking, crocheting, sewing, listening to audio books, and watching movies. In these last final years, she was surrounded by friends she made both locally as well as those around the world she made virtually on Facebook. She’s in heaven now with all the family, friends, and animals that passed before her, finally at peace.
Cremation rites have been accorded with East Lawn Funeral Home. At this time, no services are scheduled.
