Sandra "Susie" Smith

Sandra S. Smith, 82, of Bloomington passed away February 9, 2022, with her family by her side. She was born April 15, 1939 to William Thompson and Elizabeth (Boling) and married the love of her life, Virgil L. Smith in Rock Falls on December 30, 1955. He precedes her in passing.

Surviving are her grandchildren: Hilary (Jason) Ruyle; great-grandchildren: Addison and Payton. Grandson; Shannon Smith. Great grandkids: Isabelle, Isaac, Owen and Avery. Grandson; Michael (Olivia) Smith. Great grandkids: Claey, Mikaley, Karlie, Emma, Kiralyn, and Cruz. A daughter, Rae Ann Carden. Granddaughter, Elizabeth Carden. Great grandchildren: Selena, Tylen, Tayden, Lakeylyn. Grandaughter, Emily Carden. Great grandchildren: Jamison and Dahlia. A brother, Butch Thompson also survives.

Also preceding are: her parents; a son, William “Bill” (Cindy) Smith. A sister, Donna (Gary) Warren.

Sandra worked at General Electric Company in Morrison, IL. After retirement, Sandra found the most joy in spending time with her great grandkids which involved crafting, taking them to the movies, and long talks, all which kept her young at heart. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and friend to many that knew her and will be greatly missed.

Honoring her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded with East Lawn Funeral Home, Bloomington. At this time the family will be doing private family services on their own. Condolences and memories may be left with the family at: eastlawnmemorial.com
