Shirley Elizabeth Porter

Shirley was born December 9, 1935 in Bloomington to Newton E. and Ruth Criss Donaldson. She married Max Porter, Sr. August 15, 1953 in Danville; he survives.

Also surviving are children, David (Christine) Porter, Byron, Diane Porter, Bloomington, Douglas (Sandra) Porter, Towanda, Debbie Schultz, Towanda, and Max (Stephanie) Porter, Jr, Gridley; 18 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 1 sister, Marge Gustafson, Marshall.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 7 brothers, 3 sisters, and 2 grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 2-3pm Monday January 14, 2013 at First Baptist Church, Towanda. Funeral services for Shirley will be held at 3pm at the church. Interment will be at East Twin Grove Cemetery, Bloomington at 2:30pm Tuesday, January 15, 2013. East Lawn Funeral Home, Bloomington, is assisting the family.

Shirley worked for the Towanda District Library for many years, until her retirement.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Advocate BroMenn Hospice Care or First Baptist Church, Towanda.
