She was born on November 7, 1964 in Yoshkar-Ola, Russia, to Yevgeni Repin and Iraida Bahtina.
Svetlana had a master's degree in civil engineering, specializing in road and bridge construction.
After moving to the United States in August 2001 she worked as a real estate broker for Berkshire Hathaway Home Services in Bloomington Normal.
In her free time Svetlana loved gardening, sewing and fishing.
She is survived by her son; Gosha Nikiforov of Champaign, Illinois. Svetlana also left behind family Duane Harrell and Leanne Harrell of Normal, Illinois. Uri Bahtin, Tatiana Bahtina, Michael Bahtin of Yoshkar-Ola, Russia and Olga Aleksic of Zvornik.
