Tena was a kind and generous soul who loved collecting art and books, following Chicago sports, and spoiling her grandchildren. She never missed a school concert or athletic event. She was a devoted Mom, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and friend.
In 1966 Tena graduated from the Mennonite School of Nursing and began a career that spanned 57 years and included leadership roles in Eye Surgery and Obstetrics, finishing in Case Management. Along the way she became a fixture at BroMenn Hospital well known for her compassion, humor, intelligence and motherly advice.
Tena is survived by sons: Eric (Jessica Huffman) Bliss, and Ryan (Jessica) Bliss; grandchildren, Ian Bliss, Jason Bliss, and one granddaughter on the way; siblings: Gary (Claudia) Kaufman, Lonne (Marcy) Kaufman, Ron Greene, Dan (Susan) Greene, Ken Greene, Debbie Greene, and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and the father of her children Thurman Bliss.
