

Born on September 19, 1921, Theresa, was the daughter of June William Preddy and Odessa Blanche Knight Preddy. She graduated from Madison High School in Madison, NC, in 1938 and went on to attend Brevard College, NC, graduating in 1940.
She married Bunyan Hadley Andrew August 5, 1941. They came to Bloomington in 1945 when he joined the Illinois Wesleyan University faculty as a history professor, 1945-1970, and department head. She always supported him though-out his career. Theresa also dedicated over three decades of service to the United Methodist Central Illinois Regional Office in Bloomington, working in the Printing and Mailing Department. Her long-standing commitment reflected her strong work ethic and devotion to her community. She always promoted thriftiness, reuse, repurposing and instilled these values into her sons and others.
She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Bloomington and actively participated in the Home Sweet Home Ministries Women's Auxiliary.
Theresa was preceded in death by her husband, Bunyan H. Andrew, who passed in 1970. She was also predeceased by her parents; her sister, Glenna Neal Preddy Saunders; and great grandsons Mark and Mathew Mellor.
She is lovingly remembered by her sons, John (Karen) Andrew of Bloomington, IL, and Harold (Teresa) Andrew of Houston, TX; grandchildren Donna Kay Andrew, Jerri Lynn Andrew, Jeanie Andrew (Bryan Grimes), Jane Andrew (Arun Bhalla) and Ashley Andrew; along with great-grandchildren Christen Busick, Sierra (Danny) Riden, and Toni (John) Popovich; and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be 12 noon, July 30, 2025, at East Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Bloomington, IL.
