William E. Pillow, 74, of Leroy, IL, passed away at 11:42 a.m. on Monday, September 20, 2010 at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center in Normal, IL.

He was born December 19, 1935 in Enfield, IL, son of Ellis E. and Barbara C. Naas Pillow. He married Carol Coleman on September 15, 1967.

Surviving are his wife of Leroy; two sons, Jeff Pillow of Leroy and Jamie (Dawn) Pillow of Cooksville; one daughter, Julie Martin of Urbana and five grandchildren, Daniel, Andrew, Jared, Justin and Shelby. Also surviving are one brother, Frank Pillow of Lavalle, WI and four sisters, Joyce (Bud) Moreland, Ruth Huth and Sharon Hochstatter, all of Leroy and Donna Pillow of California.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

William was an electrician and worked for Electricians Union, Local # 197 for 40 years, retiring in 1998. He was an avid fisherman, gardener and camper. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend and will be missed by all who knew him.

Private memorial services will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at East Lawn Funeral Home in Bloomington, IL. Cremation rites have been accorded. Entombment will be at East Lawn Memorial Gardens at a later date.

Mrs. Pillow would like to invite family and friends to her home from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday for food and fellowship. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

grampa this is ur grandson andrew i just wanted to say sorry for not being around in your life for the past ten years of your life i wish i coulda told u that i loved u and been able to be wit you but i was to far away i will see u one day hopfuly. you were a dad and a grampa to me and im lost now that you are gone i really dont know wat to do i wish i could have atlest gave you a hug or talked to you over the phone before you left. im hard to belive the storys about god and life cuz he took the best man that i ever knew away from are famliy. but i can only be strong and face the facts that your never coming back. i will never let you go. you will always be in my hart forever.
