Marcy, I don't know if you will remember me or not.  Back in the 60's and 70'a I was a member of the TOPS club that met on the west side of Bloomington.  I came from Chenoa with Vi Petersen and we were good friends of yours.  Vi moved to Tennessee many years ago  and died a few years ago.  My husband and I are doing pretty good for our age (lower 80's).
I was so sorry to read in the paper of your loss.  I hope you are doing well.

I will never forget our road trip from Oregon to Illinois, or Uncle Bill's Love for Family

I never met Bill.  Seeing his obituary reminded me of my dad who died 20 years ago.  My dad would visit me from his home in Southern Illinois.  He served in WW2 with Bill and wanted to reunite.  We stopped by Bill's house once, but nobody was home.  I wanted to arrange a surprise at a restaurant, having Bill be there when dad and I arrived.  My dad died suddenly so it never happened.  I always regretted that I never got them two together.  I'm sorry for your loss.  My dad thought a lot of Bill.  Thanks.

Vikke and I have known Bill for quite a while and we will never forget his unfailing positive attitude and his smile.

He loved to fish, even when the fishing was 'so so', or if we were  bundled up on a cold windy day on a pontoon ride, or cracking  a bottle of champagne in a parking lot in Ypsi, or especially on the back porch of our home enjoying a Blatz, there was his smile!

Early this year we saw him for the last time.  As we approached the center where Bill and Marcey were staying, there they were with Mary Beth out in front of the building as if they knew we were coming!  We enjoyed each other's company in front of the new fountain eating a pizza. Before we left we sang a couple of song together.  He may have had a hard time  hearing a thing, but his thanks was overwhelming, and as we left all we remember of this last time together was his unending smile.

Bill will be dearly missed.  He had a way of bringing a smile to your face no matter how your day was going.  So sorry for you loss.
