

Betty Lou Terrell, age 80, of Bloomington passed away Monday, December 13, 2021 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital in Terre Haute. Born December 9, 1941 in Bloomington, she was the daughter of Virgil Terrell and Juanita (Brummett) Smythe. Betty retired from Otis Elevator, but had formerly worked for Sarkes Tarzian and R.C.A. She had also attended cosmetology school. Betty loved collecting a multitude of different things, spending time with her family, fishing, mushroom hunting and animals. She was a past member of the West Side Trinity Pentecostal Church on West Howe St. Betty was also proud to be a part of a five generation family.
Betty is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Cheryl Walker, of Solsberry; her daughter, Misty Allen, of Bloomington, five grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Doris Smythe and Alice McMillan, both of Bloomington and several nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Clint T. Walker and Jeffery Scott Walker, one brother, Curtis Smythe, one sister, Martha Terrell and one grandson, Matthew Allen.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Valhalla Memory Gardens with Pastor Jimmy DuVall officiating. Friends may visit the family on Monday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, 700 W. Gourley Pike.
