Born in Hyderabad, India, on May 8, 1964, to Mr. M Jaya Rao and Mrs. Charlotte Tatavarthy, he soon became the eldest of six siblings. At 12, he dedicated his life to Christ and served our Lord faithfully for 45 years. He served for many years ministering in Hebron Brethren Fellowship Church, India. He volunteered in outreach ministries, church planting, counseling families, and teaching in Bible colleges, among many other activities. His passion for the Lord will be remembered by all who received his daily devotional, which he continually sent out until he was called home.
A true social butterfly, in the very best sense of the word, Bhupathy was social media before social media. He never met a stranger. He never missed an opportunity to listen, love, laugh and pray with others. All were welcomed, all were enjoyed, all were loved in Christ.
When he wasn’t ministering, he enjoyed cooking, collecting currencies and stamps, traveling, talking with friends and family, or reminiscing about his years in India.
Bhupathy is survived by his wife, Tabitha, his children, Tirzah and Tim, and his siblings: Shekar, Yugender, Madan, Jyothsna, and their spouses and children.
We thank our Father for the comfort and hope we have in Christ; and that our dear Bhupathy, while absent from our arms, is now rejoicing in our Lord’s.
I Thessalonians 4:14 - “For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.”
