

Carl Eugene Rush, 80 of Bloomington died Wednesday, February 4, 2015 in I.U. Health, Bloomington Hospital. He was born October 11, 1934 in Indianapolis to Carl Gerald Rush and Opal Inez Lyles Rush. He was a retired Boiler Operator at Westinghouse/ABB.
Survivors include his three daughters, Jane Ford and her husband Andrew of Greenville, SC, Karen Harris and her husband Don of Bloomington and Lola McCoy and her husband David of Columbus, IN; a son, David Douthitt of Bloomington; 8 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Elva Doris Peerman Rush; and a brother, Larry Rush.
Carl was of the Protestant faith; he was a Veteran of the United States Navy and a past member of the IBEW. His hobbies included antique cars, repairing lawn mowers and collecting, repairing and making clocks.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, February 8, 2015 at 2:00 PM in Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, Greene & Harrell Chapel, 700 W Gourley Pike, with Don Rader officiating. Burial will follow in Salt Creek Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, February 7, 2015 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM in the funeral home. If friends so desire, Memorial Contributions may be made to the family to help defray Carl’s final expenses.
