

Donald Patrick Combs, age 71, of Bloomington, died Thursday morning at his residence. Born March 11, 1940 in Lebanon, Kentucky, he was the son of Clarence Combs and Mary (Phillips) Combs Dickens. He was a retired truck driver. He had worked for several
companies, including Moon Freight Lines and Rose and Walker. He loved to golf, bowl, play billiards and watch NASCAR with Tony Stewart being his favorite driver. He also was an excellent pencil sketch artist.
He is survived by four sons: William D. Combs and Stephen Lee Combs, both of Bloomington, Charles Combs and his wife, Lisa, of Springville and Brent Combs, of Ellettsville; one sister, Dorothy Vaughn, of Bloomington; three brothers, Jimmy Combs, of Bloomington, Phillip “Butch” Combs, of Evansville and Mike Combs, of Ellettsville; one granddaughter, Rebekka Combs and four grandsons, Nicholas Combs, Taylor Wurr, Cody Combs and Aaron Combs. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Rosemary Combs Warren; one half-sister, Marie Timberlake, two half-brothers, F.C. Sullivan and Billy Sullivan and two brothers, Jerry Combs and Junior Combs.
There will be a private viewing at Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, Greene and Harrell Chapel on Saturday at 2:00 P.M.
The family suggests memorial contributions be given to Hospice of I.U. Health, Bloomington Hospital.
