Henry Andrew “Andy” Morris, Jr., age 63, of Bloomington died Monday morning (09/16/19) at I.U. Health; Bloomington Hospital. Born January 30, 1956 in Bloomington, he was the son of Henry Andrew Morris, Sr. and Irma Lee (Higgins) Morris. Andy retired from the Army National Guard after 21 years of service and was a stone carver and cutter for Elliott Stone Company. He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Bloomington Moose Lodge and AmVets. Andy enjoyed riding motorcycles and working on race cars, especially sprint cars.
Andy is survived by his life companion, Theresa Clements; his five children, Mikel Morris, of Bedford, Henry Andrew Morris III (Angela), of Springville, Crystal Marie Mikels (Brady), of Bedford, Christopher Scott Clements (Rebecca), of Bloomington and Misti Bennett (Erik), of Bloomington, 12 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one brother, Mealie Morris, of Ellettsville.
Andy was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Daniel W. Morris and Terry Morris and one sister, Jane Marie Morris.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, Greene and Harrell Chapel; 700 W. Gourley Pike with Fr. Tom Kovatch officiating. Burial will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens where the Monroe Veterans Honor Guard will perform military rites. Friends may visit the family on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorial contributions be given to the American Cancer Society.
