OBITUARY
Jeanne Courter
February 4, 1926 – June 20, 2022
Jeanne Courter, age 96, of Bloomington, will be laid to rest at Valhalla Memory Gardens beside her husband, Carl and her son, Robert, on Friday, June 24 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Harold Godsey officiating. Jeanne was born February 4, 1926 to Wayne Rowe and Cecile Mae (McIntosh) Pruett. She was the younger of two siblings, Ethelene and Maurice and after eight years was surprised by twin sisters, Peggy and Patty. Jeanne enjoyed cooking, crocheting and reading. She loved her family and her cats. She was a member of the American Legion Post 18 Ladies Auxiliary.
Jeanne spent 12 years working for Frank and Evelyn Crigin at their I.G.A. store before going to Colonial Bakery where she opened and managed their Thrift store for more than 26 years. She is survived by four grandchildren, Debra (Paul) Whiting, of Tennessee, Troy (Diana) Courter, of Missouri, Mike Courter, of Bloomington and Rick (Kim) Black, of Bloomington. She has 13 great-grandchildren, 24 great-great-grandchildren, her caregivers, Lois Walden and Rhonda Speer, 6 nieces and 1 nephew.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband, Carl, on February 13, 2013, her son, Robert Courter, on March 7, 2015, her parents and all her siblings.
