Obituary of Jeffrey Lee Shannon
Jeffery Lee Shannon, age 70 of Bloomington, Indiana passed away Saturday, November 12th, 2022 at home surrounded by his loving family. Jeff was born September 30th, 1952 to parents Joseph (Gene) and Phyllis (Harman) Shannon in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was a member of the class of 1970 from Whiteland High School in Whiteland, Indiana. Jeff dutifully served his country in the Army from 1970-1974 and remained a very proud and patriotic American who loved his country. Jeff retired from Subaru of Indiana Automotive (SIA) in Lafayette, Indiana after nearly 30 years as a Maintenance Supervisor. He was quite the handy man and could fix most anything. Jeff was an avid coin collector, firearms, geography and history buff, even obtaining his license to sell firearms. He loved fast cars, old cars, military planes and trains, books, food, traveling and his family. He loved visiting Gatlinburg, TN with his wife every October for 30 years and loved to share his love of Gatlinburg with friends and family, especially his favorite food jaunts and his love for donuts. He was easy going, fun to be around and could always bring laughter to any situation. Jeff is survived by the love of his life and best friend, his loving wife of 30 years, LaDonna Sue (Durham) Shannon, daughter, Felicea Shannon, son, Chris Shannon, bonus daughter Laura (Tim) Greves, Sisters, Chyrl Duncan, Laura (Joe) Robertson, brothers, Bruce Shannon, Andy (Oretha)Shannon several loving grandchildren and great grandchildren, aunts, uncle and cousins. Jeff was preceded in death by parents, Joseph (Gene) and Phyllis Shannon, Uncle Mike Harman, and bonus son, Aaron Beach. Jeff was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather and friend and he will be greatly missed. A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 19th, 2022 from 11am-1pm with a funeral service at 1pm at Deremiah-Frye Mortuary (700 W. Gourley Pike, Bloomington, IN 47404).
